High Level Meeting of the German-Tunisian Energy Partnership held in Berlin

The yearly meeting was an opportunity for the relevant German and Tunisian ministries to discuss past achievements and future goals for the partnership

The annual meeting of the steering committee of the German Tunisian Energy Partnership was held on 3 July in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in Berlin. It was led by Thorsten Herdan, Head of Department of energy policy, heat and efficiency (BMWi) and the Director General for electricity and renewable energies of the Tunisian Ministry for Energy, Mining and Renewable Energy, Habib Zgoulli, as well as the Tunisian Ambassador, Ahmed Chafra. During this high level exchange on the recent developments on the Tunisian and German energy sector and during the subsequent following meeting of the working groups, notably, the latest achievements and next steps for the first tender rounds for small and large-scale renewable energy (wind and solar) projects were discussed and a pilot project in the field of e-mobility for Tunisia following a successful German example was formulated.
