Tunisian-German Dialogue on Green Hydrogen

The first results of a study analyzing the potential of Power-to-X technologies in Tunisia have shown that technically, the potential for hydrogen production in Tunisia is high and that its production costs are very competitive. As a result, Tunisia is well placed to secure a strategic position and create green jobs through an early launch of Power-to-X technologies. Thus, a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Tunisian-German parties is the formalization of Tunisian-German cooperation in the field of Power-to-X.
This event, which lays the foundations of an alliance for the development of a Power-to-X sector in Tunisia, took place in the presence of Mrs. Saloua Essghaier, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Mr. Norbert Barthle, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Mr. Thomas Bareiß, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi).
The event is organized by the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines (MIEM) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) within the framework of the Tunisian-German Energy Partnership, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie
